What it means
package.json lists a package, and the npm registry has no package by that name. The build names it. It is a spelling mistake, a package that was removed, or a name that was never real.
How to fix it
-
Check the name on npmjs.com
Search for the package. If it exists, correct the spelling in
package.json. -
If it does not exist, replace it
Ask your agent: "This package does not exist. Use a real package that does the same job." Then run
npm installand commit the lock file. -
Deploy again
A failed deploy never counts against your plan.
Why it happens
-
An invented name. A coding agent can write a package name that sounds right and does not exist.
-
A removed package. The author unpublished it.
-
A private or local package. A package that exists only on your machine, or in a private registry, cannot be installed on the build server.
